John Legend has revealed that his upcoming album, Muse, was recorded entirely at Pharrell Williams’ studio inside Louis Vuitton’s headquarters in Paris.
Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Legend said the collaboration began after the two worked together on Clipse’s song “The Birds Don’t Sing.”
Pharrell co-wrote and produced the album, which blends gospel, classic soul, Afrobeat, doo-wop and hip-hop.
Legend says Pharrell’s creative team also helped shape the album’s visual direction. Two singles, “Daylight” and “Fireflies,” have already been released, with Muse scheduled to arrive on October 23.
